Become an Intramural Sports Official

Do you think a job working with sports would be fun? It only takes a few steps to make this thought a reality.

  1. Apply through eRecruit. If selected for an interview, you will be interviewed by the Intramural Sports Coordinator
  2. Attend trainings for Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer. Training includes classroom and on court/field sessions along with scrimmage games.
  3. Attend the officials’ scrimmages to showcase the knowledge you gained during training. Officials hired based on the number of available positions that need filled.
  4. Attend a New Employee Registration session to fill out hiring paperwork. You will need an official form of photo ID, your original social security card, and a voided check or bank direct deposit form to complete this session.

Previous knowledge of the sport is not required but is preferred.  Officials must be able to make quick decisions and handle conflicts. Officials will be trained throughout the season to improve their skills, knowledge of the game, and mechanics.  Schedules are flexible and may change weekly to fit the needs and schedules of each official.  Officials are eligible and encouraged to play. Games are played Sunday through Thursday with most officials working 2-3 of those days.  For more information please contact Intramural Sports at intramuralsports@missouri.edu or 573-882-4182.
