Mizzou’s Women’s Rugby Club presents the opportunity for Mizzou Students to learn more about the sport of rugby while traveling and playing other competitive collegiate teams. Our most competitive season is during the fall as we play two or three tournaments and about 15 total matches. During our spring season, we play more tournament-style matches rather than single matches since we have more free weekends to attend these tournaments. Our season starts the first week of September (no experience is needed) we then have the end of November until the end of February off, and the season ends at the beginning of May.
The name of the club is University of Missouri Women’s Rugby Club. The club shall be a member of Mizzou Club Sports Federation (MCSF), Mid-America Rugby Football Union (MARFU), the United States of America Rugby Football Union (USA Rugby), and a part of the Heartland of America conference and the club must accept the rules and procedures of these governing bodies. The object of the club shall be to administer and foster the development of rugby among all members of the club. The club shall promote the fellowship, good spirit, and hard work, traditions of the sport of rugby.
Semester dues are $40 per person, which includes payment of the referees, travel costs, lodging costs, and team equipment. USA rugby requires each member to be CIPPed which is a fee of $60 annually.
Our club does not hold tryouts, come join us!
Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
Practices will be held at Epple Field (2001 Providence Rd.). It’s about a three-minute drive from campus and there is a bus that picks up at various stops around campus and will drop off next to Epple in the Reactor parking lot.
Please arrive at least ten minutes before our scheduled practice time so we can put on cleats and get any equipment ready we may need for that day. Make sure to bring water, cleats (without front toe cleat, ex. soccer cleats), and an EXCITEMENT to learn.
