Private Swim Lessons
The private swim lesson request form is open! The request form will be open for a limited time and close on April 12th.
Private swim lessons are the perfect opportunity for individualized one-on-one instruction
Private lessons are open to participants of all ages, and you can design a private swim lesson around your recreational or competitive needs. Our experienced swim instructors can help you overcome your fears, learn proper swimming mechanics, and build on already established skills allowing you to fully utilize the water for the many benefits it offers.
Private swim lessons participants have the opportunity to build a relationship with their instructors who design the program around the participants needs and goals. Some participants have utilized private swim lessons for a range of purposes including overcoming their fears in a low stress, self-paced, safe environment or to gaining additional technique instruction when preparing for triathlons.
Regardless of your end goal, our private swim lesson program is sure to accommodate your needs and requests.

Private Lessons are not available during Scheduled Group Lesson classes
(Monday – Thursday, 5:15pm – 7:45p). A parent or guardian must accompany any Tiger Swim participant under the age of 18 for the first lesson.

Tiger Swim private lessons are a great option for both children & adults who have a desire to reach their swimming goals around their busy schedule. While we certainly try to accommodate all schedule requests to the best of our ability, here are a few points that might assist you through this process.
Private swim lessons are available during our normal operation hours of operation for the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Please review our pool hours prior to submitting a Private Swim Lesson Interest form.
Private lessons are NOT available during Tiger Swim Group Lessons or closed pool hours. Pool rental schedules may change pool availability.
Pool recommendations for youth private lessons:
6 months – 6 years : Tiger Grotto
6 years – and above (*varies by skill level) : Diving Well & 50M Pool

Private swim lessons are scheduled based on:
1) Mizzou Aquatic Center pool availability
2) Tiger Swim instructor availability
3) Private lesson participant goals/needs & instructor compatibility.
We will do our best to match you with an instructor in a timely manner as our student staff availability is limited. You should receive a confirmation of receipt for the Private Lesson Interest Form after submission.

Multiple pricing packages are listed below and can be purchased at our main Membership Desk on the first arranged private lesson. Payment for private lessons will not be accepted on line or over the phone, as it will be collected on the day of the participant’s first private lesson. Additional details will be provided after interested participants submit the private swim interest form.
4 Lessons $140
4 (four) 30-minute lessons.
8 Lessons $ 220
8 (eight) 30-minute lessons.
- Parking

Parking for our Tiger Swim private swim lessons program is located in hourly metered parking outside of the Virginia Avenue Parking Structure. The Virginia Avenue garage is located adjacent to the MU Student Recreation Complex off of Hitt Street. Parking is enforced 24 hours a day including disabled spaces, yellow curbs, fire lanes, loading zones, and reserved spaces including when classes are not in session.
